Race's Over

Quite sad today as i lost the race against my programming lab assignment. Only today when my friend explained to me then i know what the program requires. By then, it's already too late. Tried to finish it before lunchtime, but still it was not done. Gonna get a very bad score, need to blame it on the person who sets the question. Really, it looks like it's only machine readable. Anyway, since yesterday, i feel that i need to buck up, and catch up with the others.

I've set up the printer/scanner today, and to make space for it, i have to shift a block of mountain from my table to the storeroom. That's how it works, while Singapore is an island, busy reclaming land to expand land area, I live in a valley, and whenever i need to expand, i need to shift mountains away. I believe those that come to my room before should know how my room looked like.

Here's the first thing i scanned. Lots of memories, taken when i was sec1 for a history group project. Think we were supposed to go Fort Canning Park, but I believe this is taken somewhere near our school.

Happy? Birthday!!

Holy shit, today is my birthday!! However it's not a day for me to slack around since it falls on the busiest day of my week. And after 3 weeks of schooling in the new semester, the work has already piled up so high that i cannot breath. With so many deadlines to meet this week, i went to school earlier than usual to do them. This is how i started a hectic day, racing against deadlines.

First opponent, physics practical report, difficulty level 5/5, deadline by 290107 1800hrs, started on thursday 250107, ended at 290107 1100hrs. I won the race,

Second opponent, computing logics lab, difficulty level 1/5, deadline 290107 1555hrs, started same day 1500hrs. I lost this race, not able to finish 2 of the questions in time.

Third opponent, computer programming lab, difficulty level 10/5, deadline 300107 1600hrs, started on 260107, still on-going, result will be known tomorrow. But judging from the difficulty level, i wonder if i really can hand it in in time. Sigh..

At the same time, i am still having race with a few others but the deadlines will be in a few days, so not that important as yet.

Well, no matter how many races there are, I will still need breaks in between, and since Kai didnt have labs today, he joined me and ck for lunch at mcdonald. Oh, and he was good enough to send me home after my lesson at 6pm, with the printer that some of my dear friends bought for me. Thanks them very much, and thanks Kai for the trip home today.

Practical / Labs

In sec sch and JC, I'll link this 2 words with doing experiment and with the subjects chemistry or physics. Now, this 2 words have completely new meanings to me. They are no longer related to experiments, but have become programming in computer labs or any other computers I can find.

However, this sem, i took a Physics module and today is the first lab for this module, and my first 'real' lab session i had in 3 years. The experiment was pretty dumb though, to measure the speed of light. An easy experiment, but i totally lost touch, dont even remember how to use the C.R.O. Lucky this experiment is done in pairs, and got people there to help you if you encounter any problems. Towards the end of the experiment, there was sort of like a Q & A / Oral session, and freak, the question thrown at me was out of this world. Havent touch Physics for so many years, i cant even answer the simplest of question. This will be counted in the CA too.

With some cock up during the experiment, we still manage to finish the experiment in around 2 hrs ahead of schedule by 1 hr(Most, in fact all others can finish in 1 hr). Still it was quite fun to finally touch these things again.

Late At Last

I knew this was coming. After a first sem of afternoon lessons, there's no doubt that this sem, with 4 morning lessons, I'm bound to be late for some days. Today is the first of these days. Woke up at 9am despite setting the alarm clock to 745am. Luckily, i was only around 15 mins late and didn't miss much.

There were supposed to be 2 consecutive lectures today, but I didn't go for the 2nd one due to the headache, probably cause I slept later than usual the night before. Heh, I still didn't go home straight though, went to have lunch with Kyuu, before going home. As usual, once reach home, the most important to do is still to on my computer, but i didn't last long before getting knocked out.

Haha, after waking up, my head still aches, should be sleep too much this time. Anyhow, it subsides after a while. Been pretty down of late, still waiting for something that can bring me back up. Hope tomorrow is better.

Signals, the Gathering

Now the start of the tutorial of this sem. With some mixed up in the balloting, I've been given an out-of-the-way tutorial on a tuesday morning, so I decided to bring another of my tutorial to tuesday, though only to reduce my initial 4-hr break by 1-hr. To further cut the break, I arrange to have lunch with chubbs and that further reduce my break by 1 hr. Nicely done, the rest of the 2 hrs, i bet you can find me in 1 of the computer lab snoozing.

Anyway, i went home after my lecture, get a change and went out again. Ops, to find myself far too early for the signals' appointment. It was a dinner meeting at Raffles City. Quite a good turnout seeing a few pple who we rarely see (Bear, and Fatty). Throughout the session we kept the place lively with our rubbish chat. Mostly related to our recent happenings and experiences. Other topics relate to studies and work(not the type i like).

I'll be expecting a few more of this type of gathering since the actual purpose for the dinner was to bid farewell to ah Poh, who's flying off tomorrow and a few more will be flying off soon in the next month. Quite good to have this gathering but, it really can burn a big hole in the pocket if there's too many of them.

Whose Fault?!

Went out with Nicky, Kai, Jayugi, Kyuu, Miz, Riverius today to watch a movie at Marina Square but before that met for dinner at Carl's Junior. The show was "Pan's Labyrinth" i think, not too sure. It's pretty nice except that the show was in Spanish(I think so..), and got some parts quite disgusting. What is it about, go watch it yourself don't ask me.

After the show, with no other activity, we went back. Only Me, Kyuu and Riverius went on the green line back to where we belong. At my stop, I saw the boy(from Monday's Syndrome) again. Just my luck to see him twice a week. The good thing is, he didn't come to bother me this time round.

On the bus, I took a seat in the front half of a bendy bus, a father and his son took the seats behind me. They engaged in a heated argument about that boy. Initially, only talking bout how annoying the boy is. From the conversation, i think the son knows the boy from before. After a while, the father said "It's the parents' fault for the son becoming like this.... " the son said " It's the boy's fault for his own behaviour...." And the argument continues for quite a while.

Usually, I'll just argue that it's AKQF(All KQ's Fault). But this has really nothing to do with him though. Sigh, so who should be at fault when the child becomes like that with no manners and all? Think both parties should be at fault, but for this case, the boy actually seems a bit retarded, and cant control his own emotion, so it's not really up to him. Anyway, if you just ignore him, I guess he'll get no kick and wont come bother you again.

P.S. I didn't meant to eavesdrop on the father and son's conversation, they were just talking too loudly.

The Wanderer

I'm becoming more of a wanderer recently, wandering about the neighbourhood on short days in school. With no tutorial, there is only 1 lecture in the afternoon today. After the lecture, i didn't go straight home. Instead I wandered the streets initially with the intention to buy something that I want, but i guess Fate is telling me not to waste my money on useless thing like that. The end result is I didn't find what i want, so i saved up a bit of my money :)

The Reunion

While loitering around a shopping mall near my house, I saw my favourite teacher(My form teacher in sec 1). I called out to her, and not surprisingly, she remembered my name since i was a little imp in her class, and her first every subject representive in H. Chinese Language. Like many old friends who see me, she said "ni hai shi gen yi qian yi yang, mei you bian." Which basically can translate to you still look the same. Surely cant be that exaggerating?! Quite sad when people say this to me, especially when i see my primary school friends, but not too bad, i've gotten use to such remarks.

Monday Syndrome

After a messy first monday in school, the second monday came, and is out to wear me down. With the same schedule as last wk, the only way for me to change things is to do things that i dint do last wk. I set the alarm clock earlier by a gd half hour, but it seems heaven's will that i will wake up at the same thing as last wk. So, after having a quick breakfast, i set off to school.

Trying to be different, i took the bus instead of the train. It took longer than the train and when i reach my stop, I felt abit nauseous, but was glad there wasn't any bastard on the bus. I had to switched to the internal bus to get to my LT, and after what seems like a long wait, the bus finally came. I reached the final destination at 9.01am on my watch. OMG!! Entering the LT, i expected to hear the same words that i heard in the past two lectures, but can you believe it, the clock in the LT was spoilt and was lagging 2hrs behind. Guess I was early after all.

After the lecture, I had an hour break, but i had to go find a Madam Pang or something, caused i had messed up during tutorial balloting, and did not have a class to go for tutorial. She was pretty nice to me and ck and help us with the tutorial registration.

During the next few hours of lectures, i was practically half asleep, so after lunch, i went to a nice air-conditioned place to take a nap before the most boring lecture of the day. Thankfully, during the lecture, I was fully awake, perhaps because of the nap, or maybe the fact that I was on the third row, and I manage to listen to the lecturer attentively(I still dont understand what he talking though). Think the only bring back for this lecture is that moving clock moves slower than a clock at rest, and you will age slower when you travel at high speed. So if you want longevity, you have to keep running around all your life(This will perhaps extend your life for 1 or 2 secs).

While trying to keep everything i do different for today, I took the train home. So it's the opposite of last week. After i reached, I had to take another final bus home. The queue for the bus was so long that i can only board the second bus, and while queueing there, I saw the most bastard boy i ever seen. He had no respect for anyone and will irritate everyone he sees. It wasn't the first time i see him, but he tried to irritate me, but well, i just kept my cool not even giving a damn about him, so he went to irritate others in the queue. He also cut into the queue ahead of a lady with a child and gave the lady a bastard look.

So now, I can conclude that you can try to change things but it's pointless. Even after reversing the sequence of what you do, you will only experience the same thing in the opposite sequence.

Wk 1 over, phew..

Nice to have completed wk 1 of school. Since monday, nothing have been really smooth sailing. Everything that can go wrong went wrong, luckily still manage to hang in there.

A bit worn out already, but guess just nd to hang in there for another 3mths plus.

Even after i finish lesson today, something on the bus back reminded me of some bad memories. There was a bit of a stench on the bus which reminded me of someone whom i served before while working before the start of school. I'll know the moment he came into my workplace as the stench is really unbearable. You wouldn't want to be there. And he really go to my workplace alot of times, I have to hide somewhere to breath in fresh air every now and then when he's there, adding to my workload..

Now then let's look forward to wk2, but really not looking forward to wk3. Hope i dont have to go to the whiteboard to show my answer to the class this time round, cause i don't know how to answer any of the questions.

Early Bird Lecture 2

Today is the only other morning lesson that i have in a week. Though the lecture was 1hr ltr then the first one on monday, the feeling of waking up so early still is really bad. And to prevent having to squeeze in the morning train, i chose to take the bus.

The first thing that the early bird lecturer says in the lecture is exactly the same as the thing he said in the last post. Sigh, hope he doesn't say that in every lecture in future. Oh and forgot to mention the lecture was really boring, maybe that's why the lecture is in the morning, since everyone is still quite fresh. The next lecture was much better as that lecturer knows how to joke and liven the LT.

After lunch, spent 50 bucks on 2 textbooks. Hope i put them to good use and not be like the genes textbooks. It's still pretty new, anyone who is going to take genes and society in future please buy the book from me!!(new bk cost $29 i think)

what a day, everything to complain about

Feeling really sore today as everything doesnt seems to go well. The first lect at 9am and i thought it was 10 initially till i check it yesterday night. So i have to sleep even earlier. In the end, it's still the same whether i sleep earlier as i cannot sleep and was playing my gba on my bed.

Woke up so early at 7am, and after a light breakfast, go take train to school. Along the BG station to BB station, there was a problem with the track i think, and the darn driver while approaching that area, suddenly jammed the break. Many people almost fell over and got a particular bastard got nothing else to grab to, grab hold of my right arm, and grab so hard. When he regain his balance, he dint even say ty or sry for grabbing me.

I reached the first LT at 9.01am on my watch, and it was 2 mins fast. After entering from the front entrance, the first thing i heard the lecturer say was "I like to start my lecture punctually, so next time i hope all of you come here on time." The clock in the LT says 9.05am.

Then the worst news of the day comes to me after the second lecture when i knew about godlike Kai taking the same SS module as me. OMG, i going to help push him up the bellcurve.

In my fourth lecture of the day (the last one) after i whole day of lecture, i was hoping for an interesting lecturer. But that was the lecture that i slept for the longest time of the day, and he overshot the time somemore, make me have to take the later buses of 188 which i have to squeeze so much.

WTF a day!! Hope yours not like mine, and gd luck to those people who take most of the modules that godlike Kai is taking this sem.

2 More Days

Argh, the "winter" break is almost over. What a waste of this break fooling around in the streets or sailing around in the Viridian Seas. Basically achieve nothing in the break unless if you say achievements in the game is counted. For those who are not yet playing the game, I've added the links to the game and you can get the game from that website.

The bidding for the modules is finally over. In all, i going to be taking 5modules, which include 2 CS modules, 1 MA module, 1 SS module and 1 PC module. Seems like a tough sem for me, cause my PC and History is really among the worst of my subjects. Hope i can cope nonetheless. I'll still be coming online often though, since computer is going to be my rice bowl in future.

Wallaby!! Bad Omen.

Had a dream recently about going to Australia for a business trip with the business crew. Eh, but i think it's more of a nightmare cos the trip was like 2 days away, and i had not packed anything. Was rather panicky as it was supposed to be on winter and i havent even bought any winter clothings. Anyway, i dint finish the dream, as i forced myself to wake up, cos i nd to be at the soccer court at 9am.

Anyway, that day was the day some of us signallers get together to play soccer(last post). The bad omen continues in the afternoon at lunch time as I saw the ex-cheetah's uncle(ANG W C), and Ah Goh also having lunch at the same location as us. This doesnt really bodes well for the next coming summer break for us. Sort of have the bad feeling about having to go camping in the coming summer break. Well, it's still 4mths plus away, so we'll see what happens then.

No longer in my Prime

Nothing beats waking up early for a soccer session at the street soccer court! (Guess not many agrees with me, lol) Anyway, had soccer at the mega-playground with some friends, and as usual, there is a grand turnout of 8. A lucky number after all. But din really play much, so quite a waste of time for bimbang and sq who came down from the east. For kaiak, it's better for him since he stayed behind to play pool after lunch.

After some soccer sessions in recent wks, i feel my skills have dropped since i was jc(not that i was skilful to start with). But it has deteriorate alot, sigh.. Even pool also become so lousy, last time i used to own Ah Bee, now just on par with him. Everything become lousy after i go camping.

So according to M.I. all my other skills have also deteriorate and i'm no longer in my prime(getting old).
Bad Day!

What makes a gd mahjong matey?!

Mahjong is really a gd way to pass time, every game will usually take at least 10mins, and everytime you play will be for hours. So having gd mahjong mateys are important.

Firstly, and most importantly, he/she mustn't win all the way. If anyone person just win all the time, i'll be falling asleep pretty soon in the game.

Next, i dont like to play with pple who smoke and play at the same time. Really stink out the place. Body odour also falls in this category, that's the very reason i dont like to play with someone with the nick "tweety bird". Uh, not my sec sch friend(ah bee) ah, just getting this straight, lol.
