A hint of Alexism

It's a no-brainer that Alex is synonymous to being an irritant and I somehow caught some of that Alexism:

Recently, I got really fed up with some irresponsible people who would just chuck their garbage out of the windows of the HDB home. so I decided to take action by providing a feedback to our friendly Town Manager. Only to be told on the next day that I had approached the wrong party.

And so, my mail was forwarded to the relevant Environmental Specialist. I thought the mail got lost cause I saw no reply from the Specialist. I wrote a second email to check regarding the status. This time, I got a reply within 2 days saying that the Specialist had already conducted discreet (secret?) investigations but couldn't pinpoint who was responsible (or the irresponsible) for the garbage generated at the void deck. However, an advisory has been issued to the residents to discourage the anti-social act.

Boy, was I glad to know that the past week was spent on discreet investigations. Now is my chance to display my 21st CC (21st Century Competencies) to be a concerned citizen, that's how I volunteered to help the Specialist keep a vigilant lookout for the garbage that are generated and sent them a third email with photos at 11pm tonight.

Guess I will have to continue taking photos in the mornings and at nights for the next consecutive days/weeks to update the Specialist before they can decide what to do next.

Annual Hike 2013 @ Macritchie Reservoir

This year's annual hike takes place at the Macritchie Reservoir and we took on the HSBC Treetop Walk. This way into the treetop walk.

And we walk and we walk and we walk.

After walking about 1h, we finally reached the ranger house beside the treetop walk. Even the squirrel came out to show its support.

The labourious walk and the fruit of the labour is a short walk above the trees. Kinda scary when you look down but luckily the bridge wasn't the shaky type. Phew. And thanks to Dear for being there. Hehe.

Out and away, we journeyed back to J8 for dinner. The choice was Watami. Reasonably good food to fill the tummy after the hike. YUMMY!

Working in a hospice

Recently, feel so suffocated at my workplace. I guess I had it coming, since I already knew that helping others can really be a chore, I still decided to sign on the dotted line. Serve me right.

Lizard on the Moon????

Felt really emo yesterday, and I decided to go moon-gazing. Guess what I saw on the moon?!

You should be able to see a lizard-like creature from the pic of the moon right? That's amazing! Let's hope we ain't coming to the end of the world yet.
